As an aspiring eCommerce VA for Amazon, I made sure to invest in courses that would make sure that I would become an effective Amazon VA for my clients.
Amazon Product Research Sample using Helium 10

So first, I'll go to the Black Box menu of Helium 10 and then type the selected categories for the product which I am about to research. The categories that I'll be putting would be products from the ungated categories. These are:

And then to fill it out...

I've filled out all the categories. The monthly revenue should be from 4-5000 minimum and 15000 or more maximum. The price should be at 14-15 dollars minimum to 30 dollars and more maximum. The review count should be from 50-100 maximum because it will be harder to compete with a product that has thousands of reviews. The shipping size tier should be tiny standard size in order to keep your shipping costs low. The basis for a good product should be something that gives out really good revenues, around 50-100 reviews, is NOT seasonal.

So these are the products that I have found using Helium 10 (I'm using the FREE version so my search results are very limited. As what I've found, these ARE NOT good products because the Toe Compression Socks have very low prices in Amazon (around $6) and it also has a lot of reviews. As for the Hair Swatches, I've used the Helium X Ray and the revenues are too low for it to be considered so it's not a good product as well.
Finding the Winning Product:
1. Sub-Niche products. For example, instead of dog collars, focus on concentrating on flashing LED dog collars in pink or personalized dog collars.
2. Search on Google for Amazon Best Sellers and then click any products that aren't ungated and then sub-niche them. Go to the best seller product and then get the keyword. Go to keyword search bar (Helium 10 or Merchant Words) and then search the keywords that people are searching. Paste it on Amazon and then run Helium X Ray if it's a viable product.
3. Go to Marchant Words and use its search volume database to find potential products.
Products that aren't good:
1. If it costs a lot to manufacture
2. If the market is unstable (revenues are high and low)
3. Too many reviews
4. Consider the prices. If the prices are too low then It won't make the cut in the business.
5. If there is one brand that dominates the product, then don't push for it.
6. If the product is seasonal

Examples of Good Products that I was able to find using Merchant Word and Keyword Research (Helium10):

These are the products that I would gladly put into consideration and then save it on Excel.
Rationale for a better and more competitive product:
When we find our winning product, it is not just to throw that exact same winning product into Amazon that looks exactly like everyone else's. What happens when you do this is that all other new sellers that enter this niche whether you know- three months down the line, 6 months down the line, years down the line are all going to do the exact same thing and put the exact same product that you have on Amazon now and that all other competitors have on Amazon so now we have hundreds of the same exact product on Amazon that looks all identical and when this happens, this splits up sales and creates price wars so everybody has to go down to razor-thin margins and all the competition is going to eat each other alive and everyone is going to fail and to do this we must be creative and think outside the box that says oh we stick out from the pack and don't get saturated by a bunch of generic sellers. We can do this by following 5 simple strategies.

1. Finding a new better design
2. Fixing Negative Reviews on Competitor's products for your products.
3. Making it a premium product
4. Branding it better by making the listings better and making the product description better
5. Filling the hole in the market. An example of this is when there are at least 5-10 laptop stands and none of them offers a wooden laptop stand in Amazon. I would then find wooden laptop stands on Pinterest to get more ideas and designs for the said product and then manufacture it. It has to be either popular on Instagram and Pinterest or else it would be a risk to sell it. Avoid risk by knowing the demands first.
